Diana Howat – EdLaw, Staff Counsel
Diana Howat is a Staff Attorney at the EdLaw Project of the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS), the public defender agency in Massachusetts. She started at the EdLaw Project in 2022 as a Skadden Fellow, and subsequently transitioned into a permanent role. Diana represents court-involved youth and young people in their education matters, with a particular focus on working with emerging adults. In addition to direct legal representation, she offers training and guidance to court-appointed attorneys to enhance their integration of education advocacy into their representation of their clients. Through this work, she aims to disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline by ensuring access to educational opportunities that support young people in achieving their goals. She graduated from Northeastern University School of Law in 2022.
